Template placeholder. The text below is structural placeholder content, not legal advice. Replace each section with language written or reviewed by a qualified attorney for your jurisdiction before publishing. This template can hold Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use, Cookie Policy, or any similar document.

Overview

Describe what this document covers, who it applies to, and the company entity it’s issued by. Example: “These [Terms / this Policy] govern your use of the North Carolina Fiber Internet website and services operated by [Legal Entity Name], located at [address].”

State that by using the service the user agrees to these terms, and note the effective date.

Definitions

Define key terms used throughout, e.g. “Service,” “Customer,” “Equipment,” “Personal Information.” Keep definitions consistent across all your legal documents.

Your account

Cover account creation, accurate information, credentials and security responsibility, and what happens on termination or suspension.

Acceptable use

List prohibited activities (illegal use, network abuse, reselling, interference, etc.) and the consequences of violation. Reference any separate Acceptable Use Policy if you maintain one.

Service & billing

Explain service availability, installation, equipment, pricing, billing cycles, promotional terms, autopay, late fees, cancellation, and refunds. Ensure this matches the actual terms shown on your plans and checkout pages (e.g. “no contract,” “30-day money-back guarantee,” “charged after install”).

Privacy & data

Summarize what data you collect, why, how it’s used and shared, retention, and user rights. If you use third-party tools (e.g. an embedded speed test, maps, analytics, or payment processors), disclose them here — including any data those tools collect.

Disclaimers

Standard service “as is” disclaimers, speed/performance estimates language (browser speed tests and advertised speeds are estimates and may vary), and availability not guaranteed in all areas.

Limitation of liability

Cap on liability and exclusions, to the extent permitted by law in your jurisdiction.

This template is reusable: duplicate the page for each legal document (Terms, Privacy, Acceptable Use, Cookies), change the title, the “Last updated” date, and the section content. The table of contents updates itself.
